A NOVEL APPROACH TO RECOVER TOTAL HEAVY MINERALS FROM BEACH SAND USING DIFFERENT GRAVITY CONCENTRATORS

Er. Deependra Singh is currently  the Chairman and Managing Director of IREL (India) Limited, a Central Public Sector Undertaking, under Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India. He has rich and varied experience spanning over more than 3 decades in the field of Strategic Corporate Planning, R & D, Project Management, Production Planning & Control, Quality Control & Quality Management System, Human Resource Management, Skill Development & Industrial Training.

Sri Deependra Singh holds a M.Tech degree in Industrial Design and MBA in Marketing Management and has created an ecosystem for the transfer of leading edge research into practical application of technology and knowledge in the field of value addition of heavy minerals. His thorough knowledge of production, technology, innovative vision of industrial challenges led him to develop best practices and guidelines for the implementation of technology and socially enabled changes in heavy mineral mining industries of India. Few of his active participation in various professional bodies are: President of the Rare Earth Association of India, Chairman for Western Region of Export Promotion Council for Chemical & Allied Products, Chairman of Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Chairman of Processed Minerals of CAPEXIL, Member of Managing Committee of FIMI and Ex-Member of the Executive Board of Standing Committee on Public Sector (SCOPE)

Dr. R. Bhima Rao born in the year 1952 is at present Advisor to Mineral Industries especially to Indian Rare Earths Limited Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India. He is also the Director of Aryan Institute of Engineering and Technology [Bijupatnaik University of Technology], Bhubaneswar, a formerly CSIR-Professor & Chief Scientist, at the Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR), Govt. of India,  Bhubaneswar after completing his double post-graduation from the College of Science and Technology and College of Engineering, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.  He was also the Principal at the Aryan Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Dr. Bhima Rao has obtained a doctorate degree in Mineral Engineering from the IIT Dhanbad [Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad].  He has visited Lulea University of Technology, Lulea, Sweden as a Guest Researcher.  He has gained in-depth knowledge and experience in the fields of characterization, the liberation of values/gangue from the ore, fine particle processing, selection, scaling up and operational problems of comminution circuits, gravity concentration, magnetic separation, flotation, auditing/ modification and process flow sheet developments for various ores, mineral and metallurgical wastes from different operating Indian mineral processing industries.  He has received many national and international awards and he is also the editor for many mineral engineering-related journals.
