Dear colleagues and participants,
The Technical Faculty in Bor, University of Belgrade and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia organized the XIV International Mineral Processing and Recycling Conference – IMPRC 2021.
The Conference was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia in Belgrade (Resavska Street 13-15) on 12th to 14th May 2021. All epidemiological measures for protection against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) were implemented, including a limited number of participants per session. The Conference was organized in a combined, hybrid format where a part of the program was held online via the Zoom platform.
The main aim of the Conference was the promotion and publication of the results obtained through scientific work and research, as well as exchange of the ideas and experience in the field of mineral processing, waste management, recycling of different kinds of raw material, environmental protection and other related fields. The Conference, despite the extenuating circumstances, justified the participants’ expectations and fulfilled the aim.
The Conference Proceedings (hardcover, 514 pages, ISBN 978-86-6305-113-3), edited by Prof. dr Jovica Sokolović and Prof. dr Milan Trumić, included 86 papers from 247 authors and co-authors from 23 countries: Algeria, Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Chile, China, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Italy, Mongolia, Northern Macedonia, Cuba, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, and Serbia.
Although The Conference was held in this combined or hybrid format, it attracted considerable interest, supported by the fact that a great number of eminent researchers from Serbia and abroad, as well as representatives from various companies, participated in the Conference.
The Conference was organized in the form of plenary lectures, two sessions that included oral presentations, one poster session, and an online session via the Zoom platform. Two plenary lectures were presented by two eminent lecturers. Prof. dr Zhiyon Gao (School of Minerals Processing and Bioengineering at the Central South University, China) delivered a lecture on Atomic force microscopy (AFM) force measurement in surface chemistry of mineral flotation via the Zoom platform. Prof. dr Aleksandar Jovović (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade) gave a lecture on Waste and wastewater management as a potential for reduction of GHG emissions. In addition to plenary lectures, two (2) session lectures (lectures by invitation), eighteen (18) oral presentation, and thirty-six (36) poster presentations were presented at the Conference as well.
There were about hundred (100) participants from Serbia and abroad who took part in the Conference. All participants were able to follow the program via the Zoom application. Several accompanying activities were included in the IMPRC 2021 Conference, such as a gala dinner, a walking tour of Belgrade, and a visit to Milutin Milankovic Association.
