Life Cycle Assessment and Use of Natural Resources

Dr. Slobodan Cvetković has earned his Ph.D in the field of chemical engineering at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade.

He started his working career at Starch Industry “Jabuka” in Pancevo, where he worked as an engineer and plant manager, engineer in the development sector, as well as president of the company’s Supervisory Board. In 2008, he continued his career at the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Serbia. During his work in the ministry as head of the Department, he was engaged in the preparation of strategic and legal documents in the field of renewable energy sources and environmental protection. He managed and participated in the implementation of numerous domestic and international projects in the field of renewable energy sources. Since 2021, he has been employed at the Institute of Chemistry, Technology, and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, as the Head of the Department for Ecology and Technoeconomics.
Dr. Slobodan Cvetković is an expert in cleaner production for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and was trained in the field of renewable energy sources at the Biogas Institute (Chengdu, PR China) and at the “Teri” Institute of Energy and Natural Resources in New Delhi.
His scientific research areas include the application of renewable energy sources, energy planning, analysis of biogas systems, application of the life cycle method (LCA) in production systems, mathematical modeling of thermodynamic parameters of energy materials, as well as the integration of renewable resources and clean technologies (cogeneration, fuel cells, biohydrogen) into existing energy systems.
