Dr Ivana Smičiklas, “VINČA” Institute of Nuclear Sciences – National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade
Dr. Ivana Smičiklas received a Ph.D. degree (2007) from the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, and currently is a research professor at the Radiation and Environmental Protection Department of the “VINČA” Institute of Nuclear Sciences – National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade. As part of her broad interests in material science, environmental engineering, and waste valorization, the recent research is focused on the factors and their complex interactions governing pollutants’ association with various soil fractions, the efficacy of unconventional soil additives to stabilize heavy metals and radionuclides in situ, the safety of their use, and prospects for improving essential soil properties. Through participating in national projects and international cooperation, she has published over sixty papers in international peer-reviewed journals, three book chapters, and more than seventy papers at national and international conferences. The publications have been cited 1780 times without self-citations.
