Research progress of mine backfill technology in metalliferous mines

Prof. Lijie GUO is the Professor and deputy director-general of Dept. of Mining Engineering at Beijing General Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He created the National Centre for International Research on Green Metal Mining in China. His research interests include mining with backfill method, mechanical properties of cemented backfill, tailings management, slag binder, CO2 mineralization and concurrent utilization. His major contribution to green mining has been in the area of developing the mechanics of mine backfill and proposing the model of mine transparent backfill network.
He published over 150 papers in journals and conferences in the field of mining engineering, tailings management, mine backfill mechanics and numerical computation. He is also an editorial board member of several international journals, and has served as the committee member of International Minefill Council and the research and development and industry committee member of SOMP.
