Prof Dr. Aleksandar Nikoloski

Professor Aleksandar Nikoloski is an expert in developing technology for the beneficiation, extraction, and recovery of metals and minerals. His work involves producing high-purity metals and metal compounds used in various applications, including electrochemical systems and batteries. He leads the Hydrometallurgy Research Group at Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia, and manages several research projects related to the production, recycling, and application of commodities such as lithium, vanadium, copper, cobalt, nickel, manganese, uranium, rare earths, zinc, coal, mineral sands, and precious and platinum group metals.
With a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering and 28 years of experience, Professor Nikoloski collaborates with industry to develop sustainable technologies for minerals and metals production, especially in applied electrochemistry for hydrometallurgy and energy storage systems. His recent research centres on lithium processing for battery chemicals
Beyond his academic work, he is active in professional organizations, publishes extensively, and presents at international conferences. Recognized for his contributions, Professor Nikoloski mentors students, fostering innovation and addressing environmental challenges in mining and metals industries.
